Women’s Leadership Network alt

Women's Leadership Network-Muskegon

In May, 2005, United Way of the Lakeshore launched a Women's Leadership Network. Any woman who gives $500 annually to United Way (or $1,000 with a spouse or partner) is considered a member of the Women’s Leadership Network.

Through study and discussion over the past few years, Women's Leadership Network members determined that poverty prevents women and children from achieving their full potential, and made poverty their focus.alt

Women's Leadership Network members have been increasing their awareness of poverty and its effects on women and children in the community, and have decided that mentoring is the best way to make a difference. Women's Leadership Network Holiday Home Tours in 2007 and 2008 raised significant money for United Way's Emergency Needs Fund for women and children. In July of 2009, an event at Hampton Green Farms helped the Emergency Needs Fund.
