5th Annual Oceana Golf United a HUGE Success!!

THANK YOU TO ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Yippee!! Our 5th Annual Oceana Golf United event was a huge success! We had our biggest turnout of golfers and sponsors of all the 5 years we’ve run this event!! We had a total of 20 Teams, 80 Golfers, 15 Hole Sponsors; 2 Watering Hole Sponsors; and 3 Event Sponsors!

Even though a hot and rainy day was predicted, we had a beautiful day for our Oceana Golf United event!! Yes, the temperature out on the green was rather warm, however, the breeze held up and the overcast skies kept the weather on the shady side for our golfers, who all seemed to have a wonderful time!

A big thank you to Nancy Fouty, Lynne Cavazos, and Paul Inglis, our Oceana Golf Committee, as well as Marc Inglis and staff of the Oceana Golf Club, for their incredible help in producing this wonderful event. Thanks also to Dominique Bunker for photographing our golfers and to all our volunteers who helped pack the golfer goodie bags, decorating the clubhouse and picnic area, and delivering Jell-O and Pudding shots in golf carts to the golfers! Special thanks to the Q Smokehouse for making such a delicious Barbeque Dinner for us all!

A HUGE thank you to our golfers who, in addition to contributing their golf fees, spent $976 on our Raffle Prize tickets: $250 on Mulligan tickets; $193 on the Jell-O and Pudding Shots; and $340 on the 50/50 Golf Ball Drop, which was the hit of the event, when Marc Inglis—the OGC Golf Pro—rolled 68 Golf Balls from a bucket in the direction of the 18th Hole, and the winning ball landed right in the Hole for a Hole in One!
