Senior Transportation Program

AgeWell Services' Senior Transportation Program provides safe, no-cost, door-to-door non-emergency medical transportation service for low-income Muskegon County adults 60 and older.

When an older adult makes an appointment, AgeWell arrives to their house 30 minutes prior to the start time of their appointment (unless otherwise requested). They drive them to their appointment and will return to take them home if requested.

Last fiscal year, we provided 9,831 rides for 308 older adults. Donations are accepted; however, there is no cost for grant-funded participants. Due to unprecedented demand, we are unable to provide as many rides as is requested.

About AgeWell Services:

Founded in 1973, AgeWell Services of West Michigan’s mission invites adults 60 and over to redefine their age. We provide vital connections to keep our most vulnerable population nourished, active, learning and living independently. AgeWell Services, formerly known as Nutritional Services for Older Americans, Inc., is a private nonprofit, founded as an outcome of the Older Americans Act. This Act designated the formation of congregate and home-delivered meal programs within states to help older adults remain healthy and independent. This also established the Administration on Aging, as well as the Older Michiganians Act. Today, with support of a three-county Board of Directors, a programming advisory committee, 300 annual volunteers and 90 team members, we provide six different programs for adults 60 and older in Muskegon, Oceana and Ottawa counties of West Michigan – Meals on Wheels, Lunch & Activity Centers, Wellness and Fitness (55 and older), Senior Medical Transportation, Discount Dining at the Driftwood Café and SafeSeniors.
